Show your support for your 2SLGBTQ+ Friends and Family by Rocking this Shirt!
An “ally” is a term used to describe someone who is supportive of 2SLGBT+ people. It encompasses non-LGBT allies as well as those within the LGBT community who support each other, e.g. a lesbian who is an ally to the trans community.
This support can look like many different things, but a visual way that you can share that you are a “safe” person for 2SLGBT+ individual is by rocking this Ally T-shirt!
This Shirt includes the Rainbow, which was popularized as a symbol of the gay community by San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker in 1978. The different colours are often associated with “diversity” in the gay community (but actually have literal meanings). Red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for harmony, purple for spirit, and brown & black represent the inclusion of people of colour in the LGBTQ community.
